Organic-Fine chemicals-Tetrachloroethylene

Product Description

Perchloroethylene, an organic chemical, is a non-flammable liquid at room temperature. Easily volatilized and has a pungent sweet taste. It is insoluble in water, but miscible in most organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Alias: perchloroethylene, molecular formula: C₂Cl4, CAS: 127-18-4.

Product application

Perchloroethylene has a wide range of uses, mainly used as organic solvents, dry cleaning agents, metal degreasing solvents, and also used as intestinal insect repellents. Tetrachloroethylene can be used as a fat extractant, fire extinguishing agent and smoke screen agent, etc., and can also be used to synthesize trichloroethylene and fluorine-containing organic compounds.

Packaging and transportation

Packing method: (Ⅲ) type. Use galvanized iron drums. Storage and transportation conditions: Store in a cool, ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Lightly load and unload when handling to keep the package intact.

Emergency treatment

Quickly evacuate personnel from the contaminated area to a safe area, isolate them, and strictly restrict access. Cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained positive pressure breathing apparatus and fire protective clothing. Cut off the source of leakage as much as possible. Prevent entry into restricted spaces such as sewers and flood drains. Small leakage: Use sand or other non-combustible materials to absorb or absorb. It can also be washed with a lot of water, and the washing water is diluted and put into the waste water system. A large number of leaks: construct dikes or dig pits for storage; cover with foam to reduce steam disasters. Use explosion-proof pump to transfer to tank truck or special collector, recycle or transport to waste disposal site for disposal.
